New Life into Maternity Care multidisciplinary conference.
Breathing New Life 2010 will be held
in the legendary Alice Springs from the 1st to 4th July,
2010. Alice Springs has a long history surrounding communication
with the world and is the starting point for many adventures
to the wonders of Central Australia such as Uluru, Kata
Tjuta, the McDonnell ranges and the legendary Kings
Canyon.
In 2010 our theme is ‘working together,
learning from each other’. The potential benefits
for working and learning together is the improved relations
between doctors and midwives, better understanding of
the roles for each other, encouraging respect for each
others knowledge and abilities, and the reduction of
conflicting knowledge. While international opinion generally
supports teaching students together, current practice
in Australia is dominated by single discipline placements
conducted in relative isolation from student colleagues
in other disciplines.
